Also acts, more slowly, on N-benzyloxycarbonylalanine, but not on the corresponding derivatives of other amino acids or on N-benzyloxycarbonylpeptides. Requires Co2+ or Zn2+. cf. EC 3.5.1.64, Nα-benzyloxycarbonylleucine hydrolase.
