Sapienic acid
Sapienic acid is a monounsaturated fatty acid and is one of the primary fatty acids in human skin. Sapienic acid disrupts membrane integrity, the proton motive force, increases membrane fluidity, and inhibits the electron transport chain in S. aureus.
