SensiStain? Anti-Arginase-1 Antibody

Arginase-1 is a cytosolic metalloenzyme encoded by the ARG1 gene and is expressed primarily in hepatocytes. The type I isoform of Arginase-1 mediates the urea cycle by catalyzing the hydrolysis of arginine to urea and ornithine. A deficiency in the arginase-1 enzyme is associated with Argininemia, an inherited autosomal recessive disorder characterized by an excess of arginine and ammonia in the bloodstream (hyperammonemia). Anti-Arginase-1 is highly specific for hepatocytes, and is a biomarker of malignant and benign hepatic tumors.

SensiStainTM Anti-Arginase-1 Antibody is validated for the detection of Arginase-1 (ARG1). ARG1 is often used as a specific marker to distinguish benign and malignant hepatic tumors as it is highly specific for hepatocytes.
