SPT Imidazopyridine 1
SPT Imidazopyridine 1 is a potent serine palmitoyl transferase (SPT) inhibitor (IC50 = 5 nM) used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and dyslipidemia. SPT Imidazopyridine 1 inhibits incorporation of 14C-serine into ceramide in dose manner, and lowers plasma ceramide levels in vivo. It also has the effect of increasing plasma HDL and reducing VLDL cholesterol levels in rats.
