BAY1082439 is an orally bioavailable inhibitor of class I phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K) alpha and beta isoforms with potential antitumor activity. The PI3K α/β inhibitor BAY1082439 selectively inhibits PI3K α and PI3K β in the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway, which may lead to PI3K expression and/or PTEN-driven tumor cell apoptosis and inhibition of tumor cell growth.
