Recombinant Human FGFR1 Protein, His-tagged
FGF R1 alpha, also known as fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 isoform 2, is a receptor tyrosine kinase whose ligands are specific members of the fibroblast growth factor family. This protein is related fibroblast growth factor (FGF) receptors that are involved in physiological and pathological processes such as cell division, regulation of cell growth and maturation, formation of blood vessels and embryonic developments. The biological activities of the FGFs are meditated by a family of type 1 transmembrane tyrosine kinases which undergo dimerization and auto-phosphorylation after ligand binding. Also, this protein is thought to play an important role
in the development of the nervous system. It may also help regulate the growth of long bones, such as the large bones in the arms and legs. Defects in FGF R1 alpha are associated with various congenital malformations of the musculoskeletal system: these include the Pfeiffer syndrome, Jackson–Weiss syndrome, Antley-Bixler syndrome. Recombinant human FGF R1 alpha, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
