2-Chloro-5-nitropyrimidin-4-ol is an intermediate used in the synthesis of 4-Chloro-5-nitro-2-(propylthio)pyrimidine (C374095), which is an impurity of the drug Ticagrelor (T437700), the first reversible oral P2Y12 receptor antagonist, provides faster, greater, and more consistent ADP-receptor inhibition than Clopidogrel. Ticagrelor is used in the treatment of acute coronary syndromes (ACS).
