Normal Goat Serum

Standard serums undergo lipid extraction to enhance clarity, followed by dialysis against phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing sodium azide, and are subsequently freeze-dried. Diluting normal serum to 5% (v/v) in PBS is highly recommended as a blocking agent to minimize background interference caused by non-specific binding to conserved sequences and/or Fc receptors. Optimal outcomes are achieved when using diluted normal serum sourced from the same host species as the labeled antibody, applied in a separate incubation step before introducing the primary antibody.
