Vip3Aa7 is a non-crystalline protein produced by Bt in vegetative stage and secreted to extracellular, which has insecticidal activity against various pests. The Vip3Aa7 prototoxin is activated by the intestinal juice of the target pest to obtain an activated toxin fragment, which binds to the midgut epithelial cells of the pest to form holes, leading to intestinal paralysis and eventually death due to sepsis.
