Leukotriene D4 methyl ester is a derivate of Leukotriene D4, which is a constituent of a slow-reacting substance of anaphylaxis (SRS-A) and acts as an agonist of smooth muscle contraction. LTD4-induced bronchoconstriction and enhanced vascular permeability contribute to the pathogenesis of asthma and acute hypersensitivity.
