Hexanoyl-L-carnitine-[N-methyl-d3] hydrochloride is an isotopically labelled analogue of Caproyl-L-carnitine HCl, which is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of hexanoyl-L-carnitine by GC- or LC-MS. Hexanoyl-L-carnitine Hydrochloride is used as a reactant in the synthesis of carnitine benzyl esters as prodrugs.
