(R)-(3-(4-morpholinophenyl)-2-oxooxazolidin-5-yl)methyl methanesulfonate is an impurity of Linezolid, an oxazolidinone antimicrobial that is used to treat infections against gram-positive bacteria, especially those that are drug-resistant. Linezolid works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis.
