6-VIC Phosphoramidite
VIC is an asymmetric oxanthrene dye (the two side rings are not identical) originally developed by Applied Biosystems (now Thermofisher). VIC's spectral properties are similar to HEX and JOE, glowing in the greenish-yellow part of the visible spectrum. VIC is used to fluorescentially label the 5'- end of oligonucleotides (as a probe in a variety of real-time PCR, hybridization, and fluorescence-based genetic analysis applications). VIC phosphorite is the most convenient building block for adding VIC labels to oligonucleotides.
