Vistusertib (AZD-2014)
Vistusertib is an orally bioavailable mTOR inhibitor with potential anti-tumor activity. Vistusertib inhibits the activity of mTOR, which may lead to the induction of tumor cell apoptosis and reduction of tumor cell proliferation. mTOR is a serine/threonine kinase that is up-regulated in a variety of tumors and plays an important role downstream of the PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway.
