anti-CD33 immunotoxin M195 (IgG)-Gel
This immunotoxin was achieved by conjugating/fusing the Anti-CD33 monoclonal antibody to gelonin. It was expressed in CHO and purified with affinity chromatography. The immunotoxin selectively binds to leukemia cells. Once bind, the toxin enters cells by receptor-mediated endocytosis, then gelonin inhibits protein synthesis by damaging the 60S subunit of mammalian ribosomes. It was designed for treatment of leukemia.
