Provided is a human monoclonal antibody that binds wall teichoic acid (WTA) alpha. The capacity of an antibody to recognize S. aureus from a variety of infected tissues raises the probability of the therapeutic antibody being active in a wide variety of different clinical infections with S. aureus.
