ML 351
ML 351 is a potent and selective inhibitor of 12/15-lipoxygenase (IC50 value 200 nM against human 12/15-LOX), which catalyzes the oxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids to produce unsaturated fatty acid hydroperoxides. Studies indicate that ML351 is protective against oxidative glutamate toxicity in mouse neuronal HT22 cells, and reduces infarct size following permanent focal ischemia in a mouse model of ischemic stroke.
