Hydroxy-1,4-benzoquinone is one of three hydroxybenzoquinone isomers and one of the simplest hydroxyquinones. It is formed by the reaction of 1,4-benzoquinone with hydrogen peroxide and is a byproduct of the metabolism of phenols.
