Methyl (5E)-6-(4,4,5,5-Tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)-5-hexenoate is an intermediate in the synthesis of Capsaicin-5,7-dene (C755350), an impurity of Capsaicin(#7553-53-9) which has been isolated from paprika and cayenne. It is used as a tool in neurobiological research. Prototype vanilloid receptor agonist. Topical analgesic.
