Syringic acid isolated from the herbs of Michelia spaerantha C.Y.Wu. It exerts chemotherapeutic and chemo-sensitizing effects through an array of mechanisms including cell-cycle arrest, apoptosis induction, inhibition of cell proliferation, cell migration, angiogenesis, NFκB DNA-binding and proteasome activities.
