6-Chloro-2-iodopurine

6-Chloro-2-iodopurine (CAS# 18552-90-4) is used as a reagent in the synthesis of MRS 2500 Tetraammonium Salt (M750200); a highly potent and selective antagonist of the platelet P2Y1 receptor that inhibits ADP-induced aggregation of human platelets. 6-Chloro-2-iodopurine is also used in the preparation of methanocarba disubstituted adenine nucleosides as highly potent and selective A3 adenosine receptor agonists.
