CM1
CM1 is an orally active iron chelator with high selectivity for iron(III). It can penetrate hepatocytes. CM1 is potentially used for patients with thalassaemia related iron overload and exhibits an inhibitory effect on the growth of Plasmodium falciparum (malaria parrasite; IC50 value 35 µM).
