Antibody 13G5, which binds 3 with low nanomolar affinity, promotes the selective cleavage of 6-glutaramidebenzisoxazoles an unactivated substrateswith multiple turnovers. In contrast to the sigmoidal pH dependence seen for other antibodies that promote proton transfers, 13G5 exhibits a bell-shaped pH-rate profile, raising the possibility that bifunctional acid-base catalysis may be operative.
