Explanation Nesfatin-1 was recently identified as an anorexigenic peptide and is derived from Nucleobindin2 protein. Nesfatin-1 reduces body weight gain, food and water intake in rodents. In humans high levels of Nesfatin-1 in plasma are associated with overweight individuals. In addition, Nesfatin-1 has been linked to anxiety and stress.
