(-)-4'-demethyl-deoxypodophyllotoxin 4-hydroxylase

This cytochrome P450 enzyme, characterized from the plant Sinopodophyllum hexandrum, produces the direct precursor to etoposide, a potent anticancer drug. It can also act on (-)-deoxypodophyllotoxin with lower efficiency.
