Anti-MTCH2 Antibody
Mitochondrial carrier homolog 2 (MTCH2) may play a key role in the mitochondrial apoptosis pathway and may induce mitochondrial depolarization. MTCH2 is suggested to catalyze the exchange of substrates across the inner mitochondrial membrane in response to apoptotic signals. Additionally, it is suggested to be targeted by Bid, a pro-apoptotic Bcl-2 family member. The Bcl-2 family of proteins incorporates several critical regulators of apoptosis that can be divided into two classes: inhibitors of apoptosis and promoters of cell death. Apoptosis plays a major role in tissue homeostasis, normal organism development, and the removal of damaged cells. The disruption of this process has been linked to a variety of diseases such as cancer.
