WAY 208466 dihydrochloride is a high affinity and selective 5-HT6 agonist (EC50 = 7.3 nM at the human 5-HT6 receptor) with antidepressant and anxiolytic activity. WAY 208466 dihydrochloride was shown to increase cortical GABA levels in vivo in rat frontal cortex.
