Aldehyde-PEG-Aldehyde, MW 600-20k

ALD-PEG-ALD has two activated aldehyde group terminal groups, which can react with the N-terminus of the peptide and protein to form a C=N double bond. Homobifunctionalized PEG derivatives have wide applications in peptides, proteins, lipids, other small molecules and surface modifications. The PEG is a highly hydrophilic molecule containing a large amount of ethoxy groups, which causes high hydrodynamic volume in aqueous solution. Drug PEGylation can alter its dispersity and solubility in aqueous solutions. PEG modification can create a spatial barrier around the drug, reduce the enzymatic hydrolysis of the drug, avoid the rapid elimination of kidney metabolism, and allow the drug to be recognized by cells of the immune system.
