CEA Protein Human Highly Pure
Catalog #: P2010021 (0.2 mg)
Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) is a glycosylated protein that plays important roles in the adhesion between cells. CEA is typically expressed during the development of the fetus and abruptly stops just before birth. As a glycosyl phosphatidyl inositol (GPI)-cell surface anchored glycoprotein, CEA has certain sialofucosylated forms that mediate the dissemination of colon carcinoma cells. As such, CEA levels in adults can be used to diagnose and manage certain types of cancers such as large intestine and rectum. Available in 0.2 mg and bulk amounts.
