This cathelicidin-related antimicrobial peptide (CRAMP) is the sole murine cathelicidin. CRAMP expression in the intestinal tract is restricted to surface epithelial cells in the colon. CRAMP shows antimicrobial activity against the murine enteric pathogen Citrobacter rodentium and destroys skin Candida albicans.
