Panurgine 1 is an α-helical amphipathic antimicrobial peptide found in Panurgus calcaratus (venom, communal bee), and has antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacteria and gram-negative bacteria, and has antifungal activity. It has low hemolytic activity against human erythrocytes.
