Alfuzosin-[13C,d3]

A labelled analog of Alfuzosin. Alfuzosin is a pharmaceutical drug of the alpha-1 blocker class. It works by relaxing the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck. It is used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). It offers an alternative to prostatectomy in patients who require surgery but are unfit for this treatment, and in patients requiring symptomatic relief while awaiting surgery. It is marketed in the United States by Sanofi Aventis under the brand name Uroxatral. It was approved by the FDA for treatment of BPH in June 2003.
