(3R,5S)-5-(6-Cyclopropyl-10-fluorobenzo[k]phenanthridin-8-yl)-3,5-dihydroxypentanoic Acid is one of pitavastatin impurities. Pitavastatin, also called as itavastatin, is a potent HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor. And studies showed that pitavastatin inhibited the activity of Rho-kinase depending on the inactivation of Rho by inhibiting the mevalonate pathway.
