5-Fluoroorotic acid

5-Fluoroorotic, a selective agent in yeast molecular genetics, is used to select orotidine-5'-phosphate decarboxylase mutants of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. It has well-expressed anticandida effects similar to 5-fluorocytosine, as well as moderate antidermatophytal effects.
