Feed Additive Lysozyme for Gut Health and Disease Prevention
Lysozyme is an antimicrobial enzyme found in a wide variety of organisms, including birds, mammals, plants, insects, and bacteria. It is produced by submerged fermentation of a carefully selected microbial strain, followed by purification and formulation. Lysozyme acts on a broad spectrum of bacteria, primarily Gram-positive, and, in some cases, also Gram-negative bacteria, with minimal negative effects. Additionally, the enzyme can target some viruses. Due to its broad antimicrobial activity, lysozyme is widely used as a preservative in food and as a non-specific immunological factor in animal feed.
