4-(Benzylthio)-N-(3-bromobenzyl)-N-ethylaniline is a byproduct in the synthesis of N-Ethyl-N-(3-sulfobenzyl)sulfanilic Acid Disodium Salt (E930600), obtained from 3-Sulfobenzaldehyde Sodium Salt (S689165) which can be used for the preparation of a series of novel sulfonamide derivatives, as inhibitors of the enzyme histone deacetylase (HDAC) as a novel approach to the treatment of cancer.
