(R)-3,3'-Bis(3,5-dichlorophenyl)-[1,1'-binapthalene]-2,2'-diol'-DCDB has been studied for a variety of scientific research applications, including its use as a fluorescent probe for the detection of amines, a fluorescent dye for the detection of proteins, and a fluorescent probe for the detection of small molecules. Additionally, (R)-3,3'-Bis(3,5-dichlorophenyl)-[1,1'-binapthalene]-2,2'-diol'-DCDB has been studied as an inhibitor of the enzyme cytochrome P450, an enzyme involved in the metabolism of drugs and other compounds.
