MAL-PEG-NH2 is Maleimide PEG that can modify the thiol group. A stable oxime ether bond is formed with the thiol group at a pH of 6.5-7.5. Under copper catalysis, azide can undergo a click chemical reaction with an alkyne group in an aqueous solution to form a nitrogen-containing five-membered heterocyclic ring. Heterobifunctional PEG can be attached to different molecules or materials to extend the richness of different molecular combinations.
