7DW8-5, a novel glycolipid, an analog of α-galactosylceramide (α-GalCer), is an immunostimulate iNKT agonist and a vaccine adjuvant that can harness and amplify the immunotherapeutic potential of NKT cells to treat certain microbial infections such as malaria and HIV. Studies have shown that the adjuvant effect of 7DW8-5 wasmediated by CD1dmolecules.
