1-Butyl-1-methylpyrrolidinium trifluoromethanesulfonate ([BMPy][OTf]) is an ionic liquid that can be used as a solvent in rhodium-catalyzed regioselective hydroformylation reactions and desulfurization of fuels. ([BMPy][OTf]) can also be used as an electrolyte in supercapacitor applications.
