- It is used as an embedding medium for preserving stained cell dishes in the study of siRNA array production of HeLa cells. It is also be used as a mounting medium in:

- detection of the secreted and cytoplasmic fractions of IpaB, IpaC, and IpaD by lysozyme permeabilization
- fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP).
- It may be used as a coating for sensors based on piezoelectric quartz crystals. Another probable use of the product is during the study of super fluorescence imaging of biocompatible carbon dots.
