Recombinant Human AICDA protein

AID is the activation-induced cytidine deaminase. This small protein is required for somatic hypermutation during immunoglobulin development. It has been speculated that AID may be involved in deamination of cytosine residues in immunoglobulin gene. Its precise biochemical activity in somatic hypermutation, however, remains unknown.
