2'-Deoxy-8-[(2-hydroxyethyl)thio]-adenosine is an intermediate in the synthesis of 8-Oxo-2'-deoxyadenosine. 8-Oxo-2'-deoxyadenosine is the first example of a native DNA lesion that stabilizes human telomeric G-quadruplex DNA.
