Feed Additive Phytase for Phytate Removal
Phytas [EC 3.1.3.26] is a thermostable enzyme preparation produced by submerged fermentation of Aspergillus niger, followed by purification and formulation. This enzyme efficiently breaks down phytic acid (phytate) found in grains and oil seeds, releasing digestible phosphorus, calcium, and other nutrients. Its thermostability, wide pH range of activity, and resistance to proteolysis ensure excellent performance. The even granulation and appropriate granulate size facilitate easy blending with feed.
As an animal feed additive, particularly for poultry and swine, PHY enhances the nutritive value of plant materials in feed by converting phytic acid (myo-inositol hexakisphosphate) into inorganic phosphate, thereby reducing environmental phosphorus pollution. Three products with varying enzyme activities are available to suit different application needs.
