A nicotinic acid analog with potential inhibitory effect on the metabolism nicotinic acid by human platelets. Used in the investigation of the hydroxylation mechanism of the flaovoprotein 2-methyl-3-hydroxypyridine-5-carboxylic acid oxygenase (MHPCO).
