The Irs1 gene is located on mouse chromosome 1. Two exons are identified, with the ATG start codon in exon 1 and the TAG stop codon in exon 1. Exon 1 will be selected as target site. Cas9 and gRNA will be co-injected into fertilized eggs for KO mouse production.
