This is amino acids 676 to 700 fragment of steroid receptor co-activator (SRC1). This N-terminnaly biotinylated peptide is derived from the second LXXLL motif of SRC1. Co-activator proteins interact with nuclear receptors in a ligand-dependent manner and augment transcription. A short amphipathic beta-helical domain that includes this LXXLL motif serves as the interaction interface between the co-activator molecules and the ligand-dependent activation function (AF-2) located in the COOH-terminus of the nuclear receptor ligand-binding domain (LBD). Receptor binding domain of the co-activator SRC-1 is specifically recruited to the farnesoid X receptor (FXR) ligand-binding domain.
