Trametinib

Trametinib, also known as GSK1120212, is an orally bioavailable mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase inhibitor with potential anti-tumor activity. Trametinib specifically binds and inhibits MEK 1 and 2, thereby inhibiting growth factor-mediated cell signaling and cell proliferation in various cancers. MEK 1 and 2 are dual-specific threonine/tyrosine kinases that are commonly upregulated in various cancer cell types and play a key role in activating the RAS/RAF/MEK/ERK signaling pathway that regulates cell growth.
