(R)-5-(hydroxymethyl)-3-(4-morpholinophenyl)oxazolidin-2-one is an impurity of Linezolid, an oxazolidinone antimicrobial that is used to treat infections against gram-positive bacteria, especially those that are drug-resistant. Linezolid works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis.
