LDHP2-Lactate dehydrogenase

Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH) is found in almost all living cells and is used by the body in the process of turning sugars into energy. LDH catalyses’ the conversion of lactate to pyruvate and back. In Clinical Chemistry Lactate Dehydrogenase has the following applications:
+ As an indicator enzyme with PK to measure reactions in which ADP, ATP or pyruvate are products
+ As an indicator enzyme in the measurement of serum GPT
+ As a serum control
